A Day In Berlin

This summer I did a little bit of travelling with my family and some family friends. It was so much fun and I now want to share some of it with you...
I will be doing 3 of these with the different places we stayed at and visited.

So lets get started!

For breakfast we went to this very cute and welcoming cafe called Antipodes. It served the best coffee and a very nice homemade granola with greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Other people had scrambled egg on toast, bacon and avocado on toast, banana bread... There was a range to choose from!

Then after a delicious breakfast it was time to explore what the city had to offer:

< First we went to the television tower and then into the square >

Then we walked through here- the Brandenburg gate ^ There was a food festival going on at
the time which made it extremely crowded although the atmosphere was great!

    Holocaust-
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe

It was the most amazing and largest memorial I had ever seen! It covers 4.7 acres of land and has 2,711 slabs of concrete. All in remembrance of all the Jews murdered in world war 2.

Now you can not go to Berlin without seeing the Berlin wall...

After all that walking time for lunch...
Well...
Time for ICE CREAM!

It was so nice to have a sit down and relax for about 15 minutes! The ice cream was cold and refreshing, just what I needed because while we were there it was about 32 degrees plus walking which I would say equals - too hot!

But soon after we had finished it was off again for more exploring :)

We had booked tickets to go up the Reichstag dome. You can see it poking up behind the parliament building >>>>>>>>>>>

It was so amazing and we saw some incredible views over the city. We also had a 20 minute audio guide which told us about everything we were looking at and some really interesting facts about the parliament and the dome itself. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures however I did get a cheeky picture of reaching the top.

Open top roof.

DID YOU KNOW?
The path to get to the top was 230 meters long.

Our last visit was to the Berlin Victory Column
It is to commemorate Prussian army's defeat of the French
I would describe it as a tall column with a very pretty golden angel on top.

After that adventurous day we topped it off with a delicious and well earned Vietnamese meal
I had some kind of delicious soup with chicken and a load of boiled vegetables which was very good. My beverage was a unusual juice with a variety of fruit in it... It was so nice I ordered it twice!

And that was the end of a very fun packed adventurous day!

Have you ever been to Berlin?
